Capt. Bob Cook, Lt. Frank Kibbee and Lt. Joe Havlovick who have been attending National Guard summer encampment for the past two weeks returned to their homes Sunday. Lt. Cook is a member of the Missoula Unit and Lts. Kibbee and Havlovick are from the Polson unit.
In an interview with Capt. Cook, this week he said that this years exercises was termed the most successful ever performed, proving the proficiency and readiness of all guard units.
Approximately 2400 men and officers were in attendance during the two weeks encampment of which all of the battery firing drills were conducted at Deer Lodge.
Lt. Kibbee received his first airplane ride with Capt. Cook at the controls, and believe it or not, were both brought back safe and sound, says the pilot.
