The Negro, Tommy Dwight, was shot to death June 13 while he was at a fish fry at the home of his uncle, McArthur said.

The sheriff said the white youths admitted firing at the Negroes, but they said they were only trying to scare them and did not know anyone had been hit until the next morning.
