PEOPLE'S FORUM
DEFENDS KEY WEST
Editor, The Citizen:

Having read an editorial in The Citizen of Aug. 30 from the Lake Worth Herald, in part says: They say, from what we have learned at this distance from Key West, and the famous new boulevard, connecting it with the mainland, travel over the scenic road and the Island City's tourist business revival, have not entirely fulfilled expectations. Well if it did not it was because of one-track minds of your town, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and some of the lesser intelligent of Miami, that tried to induce people not to come to the interesting city of Key West, told them no water to drink, no food fit to eat, and no clean or decent hotel and rooming accommodations.

Some were silly enough to listen to such falsehoods, but the intelligent class did not—so, Lake Worth, if I were you I would keep quiet, take a back seat, for you or no other town can control the entire tourist trade. Do not always listen to what "they say."
