Commercial Club Planning on Party That Will Eclipse All Former Affairs.
Commercial club parties have always been popular gatherings on account of the care which has been taken to arrange a program that would appeal to all--generally some good music, an interesting address and program, refreshments and dancing. The capacity of the old armory was always taxed to the utmost, and they were truly community gatherings.
This year with the facilities which the new armory affords, there will be plenty of room for every adult in the city and adjoining countryside to foregather there for the largest community gathering ever held under one roof in this city, and it is just such a gathering that the Commercial Club discussed and planned for at their meeting last Friday evening. A committee will go to work making arrangements with the idea that the attraction will be such that everyone will want to come and the expense will be so small that no one will feel impelled to stay away.
The party will be held some time in the week between Christmas and New Years. The Club also appointed a committee to inquire into the feasibility of issuing a community calendar for 1923. The project of the M. J. Dowling Memorial Fund for the purpose of increasing the facilities for the care of crippled children was also endorsed by the club.
