The Defalcating Stock Broker.—The broker who disappeared from Wall street, New York, on Wednesday, did not leave the city, but made an assignment of his property that night, for the general benefit of his creditors. The amount of the assets assigned has not yet transpired. His name is Ray Tompkins, son of ex-Governor Tompkins. He was an "outsider," or street operator, it seems, and not a regular broker. The amount of money he obtained, the Mirror understands, was about $90,000, which he put in his pocket.
