Pursuant to call, the Union party of Junction City precinct met in caucus at the Eagle Hotel, in this place, on Tuesday evening, the 17th inst., for the purpose of selecting delegates to the County Convention.
Woodbridge Odlin was chosen to preside, and George W. Martin, Secretary.
The President arose and stated in a lucid manner the object of the meeting. The Convention then proceeded to vote on the names of the several persons presented as candidates for delegate. Those chosen were--W. K. Bartlett, E. A. Barker, Henry Spring, Robert Henderson, and George W. Martin.
By the unanimous vote of the convention, the above chosen persons were authorized to act as delegates to the District Convention.
The utmost unanimity prevailed throughout the session, and all had a realizing sense of the responsibility resting upon them. All were alike alive to the honor and interests of Davis county, and eager to save her from the clutches of the rebels, who, under the assumed name of Democracy, are endeavoring to get into power.
On motion, it was ordered that the proceedings of the Convention be published in The Smoky Hill and Republican Union.
The Convention adjourned amid rousing cheers for the Union.
