Mrs. Harry C. Van Derveer and daughter, Miss Ruth Van Derveer, visited last Saturday in Newark.
Mrs. Stout Van Arsdale, of Annandale, visited last Saturday here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Davis.
The Wishbone Improvement Society will meet on Wednesday, October 27, at the home of Mrs. Robert Wright.
Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Apgar, of Three Bridges, visited several days this and last week here with Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Shafer.
Mrs. E. V. Naylor and daughter Rosalie visited the week-end in New York City as the guests of Miss Edna Naylor.

Mrs. Emma Sinclair and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Courtney, of Newtown, Pa., visited over Sunday here with Mrs. Mary Sinclair.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger R. Hall, of Glendale, Ohio, are visiting a few days at their former home here, making the trip by motor.
Mrs. Mary C. Shampanore, who has been visiting two weeks with Miss Agnes Shaw and sister, at Mt. Bethel, Pa., returned to her home here on Sunday.
The Readington Township Committee will hold their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, October 30, at the store of D. L. Lare, at Whitehouse Station.
A bazaar will be held in Barnet Hall, at Oldwick, on Friday evening, October 29, under the joint auspices of the Missionary Society and the Luther League.
Miss Dorothy Scott has been visiting Miss Virginia Seal, in Whitehouse.
Mrs. Emma Apgar, of Califon, has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Scott, at this place.
Mr. and Mrs. Royal F. Ditmars and sons, Robert and Garrett, of Cheshire, Conn., have been visiting a few days here with his aunt, Miss Emma Stryker.
While backing out of the Reformed church sheds at this place on Sunday evening, Frank Opdycke, of Scotch Plains, had the misfortune to break an axle on his car.
$250 were taken in at the chicken supper given in the Methodist church basement last Thursday evening. A large crowd enjoyed a most delightfully prepared supper.

Arthur Bodwell and C. C. Cook, the champion croquet players of Whitehouse, have requested Rev. William H. Fassitt to find a couple of croquet players somewhere in the United States that can actually play.
Harold Murray and family, of Norwalk, visited Sunday here with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Van Riper. Mrs. May Murray, who has been visiting a few weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Van Riper, returned to Connecticut with them.
A new and more modern signal tower is being constructed over the Central Railroad tracks just east of the station here, to replace the one that was dismantled and wrecked by the boom of a derrick striking it on October 16.
Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Van Fleet and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis A. Compton returned to their homes here on Thursday evening, after a week's motor tour through the west and visiting Mr. and Mrs. William Wiseman, at Glendale, Ohio.
The playlet given in the Reformed church on Sunday evening under the auspices of the Missionary Society, was well attended for a stormy night. The playlet was entitled, "Canton Pearls," and was very well presented by a group from Scotch Plains.
David W. Timberlake, Jr., attended the dinner in honor of Lieutenant Commander Richard E. Byrd, Jr., given by the New York Southern Society and "The Virginians," at the Waldorf Hotel, in New York City, on Wednesday evening of last week.
