A new city ordinance that will limit parking on Centerway and in the new enlarged east parking area will be considered by the city council at its next regular meeting on Monday, July 8. (The city council meets in regular session during the summer months only on the second Monday.)
The new law would allow parking on Centerway for no longer than 15 minutes at any time. This would include the bus stop area during unrestricted hours.
The parking limit for the area along the Coop Food Store canopy from the grass plot to the customer loading space would be 30 minutes between the hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Parking in the remainder of the new area would be limited to 90 minutes during the same hours. The only exception would be the rectangular section of the parking area adjacent to Parkway Road where the limit would be 24 hours.
The ordinance would also require all cars to park only in the spaces marked off for parking.
