Tuesday was held a Court of Aldermen, and Common Council at Guildhall, wherein the Affair of building a Mansion-House for the Lord Mayor, was brought upon the Tapis: Stocks-Market was again proposed as the properest Place; and after hearing some Objections against it, which were soon removed by the Advocates for it, it was resolved that Stocks-Market was the fittest Spot of Ground for such an Edifice; and a Committee was accordingly appointed to see the Ground mark'd out, and receive Proposals from the several Artificers in the Building Way, for undertaking the same out of Hand.
