Bandits Escape
After Robbery

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 15. - (UP)-Four armed bandits robbed the fashionable Beverly Hills hotel early today and escaped with several thousand dollars in cash and jewelry which they later abandoned following a gunfight with a policeman.

According to authorities, four men entered the hotel, held the switchboard operator as a hostage while forcing the manager to open the safe and then fled in a stolen car.

Accosted by Patrolman E. A. Parsons as they attempted to change to another car, one of the men opened fire which Parsons returned.

They fled on foot, Parsons said, leaving their entire loot in the car.
