COUNCIL BILL IS
UP TO GOVERNOR
[BY MORNING JOURNAL SPECIAL LEASED WIRE]
Phoenix, Ariz., June 17.--The state
council of defense bill was sent to the
governor today for his signature. The
senate conferees on the bill submitted
their report on Saturday and it was
adopted. The report of the house
conferees this
morning was also
adopted and the hardest fight of the
session was over.
The senate passed the house bill for
the confiscation of automobiles engaged
in the transportation of alcoholic
liquors. Such amendments as were made
in the house were concurred in and the
bill was sent to the governor. Both of
these measures have emergency clauses
so that they will become effective as
soon as they have been signed.
The dairy inspection bill was passed
by the senate and will probably be
disposed of in the house tonight. The
senate has taken unfavorable but not
final action on the house anti-vagabond
bill. It is predicted that the session
will adjourn on Wednesday.
