On Friday about seven Clock in the Evening, the corpse of the late Lord Mayor of London, arrived at Salisbury, in a hearse and six, decorated with plumes, and hung with escutcheons, &c. which was followed by three mourning coaches and six, attended by out-riders, servants, &c. and the same evening was laid in state at the Antelope inn, in a room hung with black cloth for that purpose; and the next morning, between eight and nine o'clock, was moved to Fonthill in order to be privately interred in the family vault.

The same day 45 of his tenants, from Fonthill, and the neighbourhood, in Respect to his Memory, came there to meet his corpse to attend it to the grave.
