Full Text

Extract of a Letter from Miniink, in New-Jersey, April 25.

We are under the utmost Fear and Consternation, upon account of the Indians having again begun their Murders and Massacres in the Province of Pennsylvania, upon the River Delaware, adjoining to this Province: For Yesterday one of Capt. Venetta's Sergeants was killed in Pennsylvania, between Henfhar's Fort, and Samuel Dupuy's, by Indians, being murdered and mangled in a cruel Manner; he was stripped quite naked, his Belly ripped open, and his Scalp taken off: His Horse was also shot under him with two Bullets. And last Week a Person was kill'd at M'Michael's Fort, in the same Province; and three more are missing, no one knowing what is become of them; but they were heard to cry out and bemoan themselves very much.

These fresh Depredations have so terrified us, that we dare not go out to our daily Labour, for fear of being surprised and murdered by the Indians.
