ENTERTAIN HASKELITES
The Singing Redmen from Bacone college entertained Haskellites with a concert last Saturday night. Mr. Franklin Gritts, who proudly announced that he was once a Singing Redman, introduced the director, Mr. Harrel Biard. The group presented a variety of songs--classical, popular and sacred. Popular with the Haskell audience were Dvorak's "Going Home," "The Ranger's Song," "Dry Bones" and "Oklahoma, I Love You."
The pianist, Louis Ballard, won for himself a place in the hearts of Haskellites. After playing "Soaring" by Schumann and "Valse in C-Sharp Minor" by Chopin, he responded to the demand for an encore with Dupre's "Little White Donkey."
Director Biard's solos included the popular "Danny Boy" and "From the Land of the Sky Blue Waters." Perry Aunko's performance of "The Lord's Prayer" in Indian sign language was one of the interesting numbers on the program.
The group included two former Haskell students, Dan Wade and Noah Deere.
