The British Superintendent of Indian affairs, at a conference lately held with some of the Six Nations to the northward, informed them, that the great King had directed him to tell them, that his American subjects were very sorry for what they had done, had asked his pardon, and he was going to forgive them, and therefore desired they would kill no more of the Americans. The Senecas however, in their blunt way, told the Superintendent they believed the great King told a lie, and that he was going to forgive the Americans because he could not help himself, and for their parts they would not be of his side any longer.
