HAS A TIN SPARRING PARTNER
Unique Device of Bombardier Wells, Pugilist.
In the guise of a mechanical figure Bombardier Wells, the famous English heavyweight pugilist, has the toughest sparring partner in the world.
"Tin Joey" is the name of Wells' training mate, the name being based upon the nature of the figure's makeup.
Its legs are of steel, fixed in an iron saucer, which is heavily weighted. The head and body are inflated, and when punched the object rebounds with terrific force.
It, of course, cannot be "knocked out."
