FILINGS INCREASE FOR
COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP
Fifteen candidates for places on the Blackfeet Tribal Council had filed their nominating petitions up to Wednesday night of this week, and many more are expected before the deadline for filing on May 31.
Candidates are waging an active campaign and a lively contest for the thirteen places on the Council is expected. The election will be held on June 15th.
Following is a list of the candidates filed up to Wednesday night:
Charles E. Gurdipce, Old Agency; Art Perrine, Seville; Joe Ironpipe, Heart Butte;
Robert LaFromboise, Old Agency; Tom Harwood, Old Agency; Stephen La Buff, Browning; Leslie Rastus Cobell, Browning; John P. Sharp, Browning.
