At the usual time yesterday the city council met in regular session with all aldermen present and the mayor presiding.
The minutes of the special and adjourned sessions were read and approved, after which the finance committee reported favorably on bills amounting to $82.92, which were allowed and ordered paid by the council.
The special committee which was appointed to audit the books and make a report on the financial condition of the city, made a very full report, which was received and adopted by the council and the committee discharged.
This report will appear in full in the ARDMOREITE in a later issue.
The ordinance offered some time since by Alderman Cruce to reduce the salary of city officials, was passed at its second reading.
The council decided to affix a penalty to the defacement of street signs, and the attorney was instructed to draft an ordinance covering this offense.
Dave Best was re-elected city clerk by the deciding vote of the mayor.
Leave of absence for one week was granted to Police Judge Galt and also to Constable Tom Nolen.
A committee was appointed to assist the representatives of the Weber Directory company in properly arranging the names of the streets.
The council then adjourned.
