On Tuesday night members of the Kiwanis Club of Brooksville observed All-Kiwanis night with President Fletcher Parker reporting at some length on the accomplishments of Kiwanis International during the past twelve months. He read a message from the International President Chas. Armstrong, in which Mr. Armstrong set forth in detail the work that has been carried on in all phases of community civic projects throughout the nation and Canada and the results that have been obtained. He complimented all clubs in the nation for their part in helping Kiwanis International achieve its objectives and pointed with pride to the great number of accomplishments which have been attained.
An added feature of the program was a talk by Mr. L. Williams, of Inverness, young World War II veteran, who made a plea for lowering the voting age in this country to 18 years if Congress passes compulsory draft legislation making it mandatory for these young men to enter the military service.
Mr. Williams based his argument upon the fact that if the safety of the country in time of war can be placed in the hands of men who are eighteen years of age, then they should also have a hand in insuring the future and political safety of our country in time of peace.
