Last Friday Evening came to Town, a young Man who belonged to the Garrison of Oswego when it was taken, and was made a Prisoner with the rest: He gives the following Account, viz. That about two Months ago he made his Escape, and got to Albany; That Saturday last was a Fortnight, an Express came in there from Fort Edward, informing that the Fort was besieged by a Body of French Regulars, upon which (the Same Evening) a Thousand of his Majesty's Regular Troops marched from Albany to its Relief, who were followed the next Day by a Thousand more; and that sometime after he left Albany, on his Way hither, he was informed by a Person who left that Place since he did, that the Enemy had been repulsed, and obliged to raise the Siege, and had left 7 Cannon behind them, viz. 4 of Iron, and 3 of Brass.
