Suspension.—Two of the newly appointed police, D. B. Graham and August Duesburg, were suspended by the Chief yesterday, and George L. Robinson and Charles Wunderlich were appointed in their stead. The cause of the suspension was the failure to arrest a man by the name of Steele, who was disorderly at Kæster & Korf's grocery, and who drew a pistol and threatened to shoot. He gave his bail, and was followed up in the slough near Mr. Steinbach's residence, where he was captured by Gus. Seifert, assisted by about a dozen citizens. The affair was most disgraceful, and the suspended police will have a chance to explain their conduct before the Council on next Monday night. We refrain from any further comments until an investigation is had.
