Full Text

George Pattullo does not think much of the schemes of our allies. The French especially according to this versatile writer, seemed to act on the assumption that all was fair in love or war, even where allies were concerned. French statesmen had their eyes on the future and they wanted everything for France that they could possibly get. Besides, they thought America was a mighty long time in getting into the war that concerned it, and they wanted pay in one kind or another for what they felt they had suffered. Probably we would have acted likewise in their place.
