The town of Glendive is located on high bottom lands along the Yellowstone river, about one mile from the bad-lands on the southeastern side, with the river on the other side. The land is about ten feet above high water mark, safe from floods. There is a location for a good steamboat wharf within half a mile. The railroad is laid out to run in front of the only street, and the company will build machine-shops and round houses this spring as it is the end of the Missouri Division. Currently not lively, but business expected to boom soon with regular railroad and daily stage from Miles City bringing passengers. Town-lots in active demand, logs for foundations piled everywhere. No frame buildings yet, but lumber to arrive with boats and cars for better building.
