WASHINGTON.—The Veterans Administration has named August 1 as the extended deadline for some 10 million World War II veterans to reinstate their government insurance policies.
Veterans Administrator, General Omar Bradley, announced the extension as soon as President Truman had signed the necessary legislation.
Bradley said that National Service Life Insurance term policies which have lapsed may be reinstated by payment of two monthly premiums provided holders are in as good health as they were at the time of the lapse.
Before the extension, the previous deadline for reinstatement had been February 1.
There are no restrictions as to residence, travel or occupation for World War II veterans who hold National Service Life Insurance.
