Full Text

Mr. Sibley has a male elk at Mendota, five years old, a very large fine animal, with a terrible weight of antlers upon his head, which being tender, the animal carries with the utmost care. He is kept in a high enclosure, and tied with a halter. In passing in and out of his enclosure, the way the elk turns his head and steers all the protruding branches of his horns through the small opening without hitting either side, would be edifying to any candidate for the Presidency to behold.—Minnesota Pioneer.
