In the Merlin Sloop, arrived from Jamaica, is come Mr. Harrison, jun. of Red Lion Square, Holborn, who went over in the said Sloop, with some Machines for discovering the Longitude at Sea. In their Way they were obliged to touch at the Madeiras, where he had an Opportunity of correcting the Ship's Reckoning to the shortest Space of Time; and in their Run down from thence, did the same in respect to the Island of Jamaica, Certificates of which, signed by Governor Lyttelton and the Ship's Officers, arrived on Thursday last at the Admiralty Office, to be laid before their Lordships.
