Crowd to St. Louis—Excursion rates on the E. P. & S. W. to St. Louis resume again on Monday. The present outlook is that they will take a larger crowd out of the town than any previous week has witnessed the departure of. Many have been holding off from the trip in the expectation of still lower rates during the month but it is now apparent that there is not much likelihood of further reduction. Many have also been waiting for the cooler weather that now prevails in the east. Between the two things much is to be found in explanation of the fact that advance inquiry for the tickets on sale next week is larger than is shown for any previous excursion week.
