A few nights since, says the Cincinnati Chronicle, as a young gentleman from Pittsburgh was passing up Broadway, two or three rowdies, who were making night hideous with their drunken orgies, assailed him, and beat him in a most brutal manner. The assailed, we understand, is a young man of respectability, and was on his way to Mexico, whither he had been deputed to go, by the citizens of Pittsburgh, to recover the bodies of some of the Pennsylvania Regiment who have fallen in battle. In consequence of the severity of the injuries he received from the rowdies, he was compelled to return to Pittsburgh.
