Moves to Block "Love Suit" Dismissal Against Louis
CHICAGO, June 7. (ANP)-
The game of chess between the Rev. Matthew Faulkner of Atlanta and Joe Louis in the $500,000 alienation of affections suit went another round here last week when the minister's attorney, Sol R. Friedman, filed an affidavit in superior court opposing Louis' motion to dismiss the suit on the ground that New York City, not Chicago, is the champ's home.
According to Friedman's brief, Louis' wife and two children live in Chicago, which is proof that the champ's permanent address is in the city. The suit, filed April 2, accuses Louis of stealing the affections of Mrs. Mattie Faulkner, 26-year-old wife of the minister.
