AGAINST HEALTH INSURANCE
Vancouver, B. C. (LPA)-Health Minister Paul Martin, in an interview here, has declared he is against any national health insurance plan for Canada. "Health insurance is and must remain a provincial problem." The Liberal Party, in convention in 1949, declared "an adequate system of insurance against sickness should be instituted by the federal government." Through the years, it repeated this pledge. Now in power, it has admitted it opposes national health insurance.
