Full Text

Little Rock, May 29.—Major Elias Rector,
Marshal for the Territory, arrived in town on
Tuesday evening last, from the Osage nation,
where he had been in pursuit of an Osage who had
committed murder some time since. It seems that
the Osage had lost two children by the cholera,
and becoming enraged with the whites for intro-
ducing it, walked into the blacksmith's shop, and
stabbed the occupant, a white man. He has been
taken, we understand, and carried to Cantonment
Leavenworth, whence he will be brought and tried
at the next (July) term of the Superior Court of
this Territory.
