Our Army Correspondence.

Head Quarters 1st Iowa Regiment,

Keokuk, May 18, 1861.

To-day two thousand stand of arms and the camp equipage for the regiment arrived. We will probably be in camp to-morrow.

Private Winning is very sick, and not expected to live; disease being fever. All the rest of the company are in good health and spirits.

We have had a great time on lunches for the last three days, on the remains of the grand feast sent us by the ladies of Muscatine. This flattering compliment has set us up mightily in Keokuk. The daily papers gave a glorious account of the supper. Sergeant Fessler had a box of delicacies sent him by some generous friend. We had our special friends, the officers of the Burlington Zouaves, in quarters, and shared with them some of the aforesaid luxuries. This company is a very gallant and fine looking body of men - gentlemen and soldiers.

In great haste,

H. J. C.
