Miss Helen Jones, 2414 Pine St., was hurried to King County hospital, after having fallen from a truck driven by Ed S. Johnson, at 23rd and E. Jefferson St.
Johnson had returned home with Miss Jones and her mother and supposedly had left both women in the house. He returned to his car intending to go to some restaurant for food. The truck was started without his knowledge that he had an uninvited passenger aboard. At 23rd and E. Jefferson St., his passenger, Miss Jones, fell from the side of the car to the street, the rear wheel of the car passing over her leg, a witness stated. She sustained injuries which may prove fatal.
Today, Thursday, she had not recovered sufficiently to make a statement.
