The Primary Election.—The primary election yesterday, passed off with remarkable quiet, though it gave rise to almost as much interest as a general one. In Virginia alone, the whole number of votes cast was 2,016. There were a large number of tickets, but the main issue was understood to be as between Henry Edgerton and Almon Hovey for United States Senator, though the question of Governor was not by any means ignored. A majority of the delegates chosen are understood to be in the interest of Mr. Edgerton for Senator, and Judge Charles H. Morgan for Governor. Their names are: John Manning, John McKay, M. Quinlan and John Dole, for the First Ward. In this ward, which is entitled to five representatives, there was a tie between I. Brokaw and Thomas Barclay, and to settle it there will be held a special meeting of the County Committee this afternoon. In the Second Ward, James Campbell, W. R. Warnock, Thomas Peasley, D. M. Hanson, Charles Wilson, A. C. Letson, A. W. Baldwin and Patrick Quigley were chosen; and in the Third Ward, Wm. M. Stewart, Robert Morrow, James Cummings, Jacob Young, John Reeves and John Allan. The result in Flowery was the election of J. C. Tibbetts, E. L. Buckingham, Hugh Twining and These delegates, as also those from Gold Hill, (published in yesterday's News,) will assemble in Convention, at Virginia, next Monday afternoon to make county nominations, and select sixteen persons to represent Storey County in the State Convention, to be held at Carson on the 31st inst.
