From a private letter from Bozeman, Mon., we get some particulars of the recent execution of the desperadoes at that place by a vigilance committee. One of the victims had been in jail three months, his crime being the murder of a bar-keeper who had ejected him from his saloon for refusing to pay for a drink; and the other had just murdered a Chinese prostitute—for her money, it was said. The mob was composed of masked men from all parts of the Gallatin Valley. The Sheriff reached the jail before the desperadoes were taken out, and ordered the mob to desist. He was told he would be shot if he did not leave. He then went to Fort Ellis, three miles distant, for a company of soldiers, which was accorded him; but the execution had taken place before he had returned with the military force.
