ANOTHER GOOD CHANGE.—Capt. Chas. A. Holmes, of Jefferson, has received the appointment of Assistant U. S. Assessor, for the 3d District of this county. On Friday last he entered upon the discharge of his duties, and removed the assessor's office from Fort Atkinson to Jefferson. Capt. Holmes will prove fully competent to discharge the duties of his new office with satisfaction to all. He is a young man of sterling integrity, and of more than ordinary ability. He faithfully served his country in the army for three years, commanding a company in the 29th Regiment. Since returning from the war, he has entered upon the practice of law at Jefferson, where he formerly resided. A better appointment could not have been made, and all the loyal men in the district have reason to rejoice to see the office taken from the copperhead who has lately disgraced it, and given to a man who is worthy and deserving.
