Full Text

About sixteen years ago, the residence of one of our citizens was entered and robbed of a piece of plate—a silver waiter. Every exertion was made at the time, to recover the property stolen and although, we believe the person who stole it was found out, the waiter could not be found. A few days ago, two colored men were employed in digging in the lower part of the town, and, whilst thus employed, dug up the identical article uninjured, which had been buried there, no doubt at the time it was stolen, and had lain unmolested for so many years.—Alexandria Gazette.
