LEXINGTON. (Ky.) February 7.

For some time past considerable anxiety has existed in the public mind to discover the mother of an infant, found at the door of Maj. Morrison, in this town, on the morning of the 9th ultimo. With a view of rescuing the reputation of several innocent females from suspicion, a number of gentlemen offered a reward of two hundred dollars to any person giving such information as would enable them to discover the mother of the child.--On Saturday last the requisite information was lodged with them, and on Sunday a young woman by the name of Majors, living five or six miles from town, was taken and brought to this place, where she confessed she was the mother.
