Full Text

FARAN VS. LAWYERS.

Senator Faran, in his stump speeches, cautions the people to avoid the nominee of the Harrisburg Convention, because, as he says, it was composed of a majority of Lawyers.

Senator Faran is, or professes to be, a Lawyer himself. We hope the people will not forget his present opinion of the craft when his term expires next fall. But the Lawyers in the Harrisburg Convention did not seem to entertain a much higher opinion of the profession than Faran himself. They therefore nominated an HONEST FARMER as their candidate, in opposition to one of their own tribe. We will not presume to call in question Mr. Faran's opinion of the dishonesty and incapacity of the members of his own profession. He ought to know them better than we do.
