WORK PROGRESSING ON SCHOOL ADDITION

With excavation for the school addition in its second week, men and materials for the actual construction started arriving in town this week.

Clyde McGillvary of McGillvary Brothers Construction in Ketchikan, contractors for the job, arrived here Wednesday by plane. He said that as soon as the barge load of lumber arrives here from Ketchikan forms for pouring the concrete walls will be built. Before inclement weather sets in and stops work, he said he hopes to have the correct fill under the building so the concrete floor slabs can be poured first thing in the spring.

McGillvary said he was pleased to find a number laborers and carpenters available locally for the job.
