Yankees Solve Washington Boxmen

WASHINGTON, April 15.—New York made it two out of three by taking today's game from Washington, 5 to 3. The visitors got an early lead at the expense of Erickson and after being blanked by Phillips for six innings solved him in the ninth when singles by Pipp and Ward, and Scott's triple netted their winning margin.

The locals were unable to get more than one hit an inning off Hoyt who registered ten strike outs.
