CHARLESTON. October 3.

GENERAL MIRANDA

When Capt. Price left Curacoa. Gen. MIRANDA, with his troops, were at Aruba.

The General after taking possession of Coro, not finding his forces sufficient to effect in junction with his friends, had returned to Aruba, where he was exercising his men, and waiting a further reinforcement of British troops.

When Miranda entered Coro, the greater part of the inhabitants fled, and retreated into the country. Some slight skirmishes had taken place with the Spanish troops, but with trifling loss on either side. Nineteen of Miranda's men, who were on a watering expedition, were taken prisoners.

The force of Miranda at present consists of the Leander, his own ship, one British frigate, two sloops of war, two Brigs, and three schooners, and about 500 soldiers and sailors.

Several American masters of vessels had sold their cargoes to Miranda, and were paid in British government bills.
