Fined In Court
Judge J. E. Simpson "bore down"
in the El Centro police court this
morning, sentencing one man to
pay a $25 fine or serve 12 days in
jail for drunkenness, and placing
the same penalty on another
charged with reckless driving.
Frank Borette, 55, was the alleged
reckless driver, and Bail Singh, 35,
the one charged with drunkenness.
Singh has faced the same charge
several times in police court.
A vagrancy charge against
A. Sandoval, 30, was dismissed. Three
negroes, arrested night before last
on a charge of gambling, together
with several others, were sentenced
this morning. The sentences were
suspended on condition they refrain
from gambling in the future.
E. Mays, 50, was sentenced to 15
days in the county jail. George
Course, 35, to five days and L. Kellum,
32 to 10 days imprisonment.
