The successful huntsmen were her sons who had returned from a week's hunting trip at Eckerman, 30 miles east of Newberry, bringing three bucks, a camp doe, jack rabbit, three cubs and a mother bear.
Nelson, Jr., shot the large bear; Charles, a cub and three point buck; LeRoy, a cub and jack rabbit; Clyde, a cub and nine point buck; Raymond, an eight point buck and the camp doe. George Denman, Fenton, brother-in-law of Raymond Clough, accompanied the group and Mr. Clough, Sr., was in charge of the camp and cooked for them.
