Court opened at 9 a. m. Wednesday, August 6th. Present, Mr. Justice Bickerton, presiding, Circuit Judge J. Hartly, Deputy Attorney-General Creighton and Deputy Marshal Wilde for the Crown, A. N. T. M. Joel and S. K. Kaohi, attorneys.
HAWAIIAN JURY-CRIMINAL CASES.
The King vs. Nauktane, assault and battery. Nonappearance of defendant, Bail forfeited.
The King vs. Kewaha, larceny 4th degree. Found guilty and sentenced to 10 days' hard labor and costs.
The King vs. Kapena, Likoke and Malakiele, larceny stealing. Found guilty and sentenced to 2 years at hard labor each and costs.
CIVIL CASES.
Kailianu et al. vs. Lunuai et al.
Continued to February term, 1891. A. Rosa for plaintiffs; W. O. Smith for defendants.
FOREIGN JURY-CRIMINAL CASES.
The King vs. Hiyeda Kinitaro and Marakane, perjury 2d degree. Found guilty and each sentenced to be imprisoned at hard labor for one year with costs. P. Neumann for defendants.
The King vs. Apau, selling liquor without license. Nolle prosequi entered. Hatch for defendant.
The King vs. Tan Wo, selling liquor without license. Found guilty and sentenced to a fine of $200 and costs. Hatch for defendant.
The King vs. Sin Fook, assault and battery on police officer. Found not guilty. Hatch for defendant.
The King vs. Sogata (Jap), burglary. Pleads guilty. Sentenced to 2 years at hard labor.
The King vs. Tani Haro, Larceny 2d degree. Pleads guilty. Sentenced to 1 year 6 months at hard labor and $10 fine.
The King vs. Lau Fong, unlawful possession of opium. Found guilty. Fined $200 and sentenced to one month at hard labor. Kaeo for defendant.
The King vs. R. Gerke, assault and battery. No appearance. Bail forfeited.
CIVIL CASES.
C. Bertelmann vs. Kilauca Sugar Co, damages for $10,000. Continued to next term. Neumann for plaintiff; Hatch for defendants.
Jose de Averio vs. Manuel Silva, replevin for one horse. Judgment for defendant. Kaeo for plaintiff; Neumann for defendant.
BANCO CASES.
A. K. Mika, tax collector, vs. V. Knudsen, defendant's appeal from Circuit Judge. Appeal dismissed. Deputy Attorney-General for plaintiff; Hatch for defendant.
The King vs. Sui Fook, escape. Appeal from Circuit Judge. Appeal dismissed. Hatch for defendant.
DIVORCE CASES,
Three divorce cases were heard two granted and one stricken out from the calendar.
