Trial of Ned McGowan at Napa.—The case of the People vs. Edward McGowan, was called on the morning of the 19th, at Napa City, at 11 o'clock, Judge McKinstry presiding. The indictment was read, and Mr. Coffroth (McGowan's counsel) waived all objections to the same on account of some slight errors contained therein. The accused plead "Not Guilty." District attorney Edgerton agreeing, Mr. Coffroth (on account of the absence of his associates, Messrs. Bates and McDougal) moved that the trial be deferred until Friday next. It was so ordered. McGowan was remanded to the custody of the officers, and he is now locked up in his cell.
