Petersburg, April 23.

Extract to the Editor—dated Chillicothe (Ohio) 14th April.

"I have just heard, from unquestionable authority that our supplies at Fort Harrison, are in great apprehension of being cut off, and I greatly fear for them, unless assistance can be got to them speedily. The Pennsylvania and Virginia Militia are discharged, and the fort is now guarded by about one thousand men, General Harrison is there.—The Indian Spies came very near the fort a few days ago—a private soldier in the regular service was shot and scalped only one hundred and forty yards from the pickets of the fort. Probably by the next mail I may be enabled to give you better information—A large body of Kentucky and Ohio militia will be with Harrison, if possible, in a few days."
