Full Text

Ohio. The Legislature of Ohio adjourned on the 26th of March, after a session of one hundred and thirteen days, of which thirty-one were occupied in the attempt to organize the lower house, owing to the factious opposition of the democrats, united with a few persons calling themselves “free-soilers.” The latter finally assumed the office of mediators, and appear to have had matters pretty much their own way. This Legislature has passed an act looking to an amendment of the Constitution, which proposes a total reform of the judiciary, the “choice of all officers by the people,” and other radical changes. If the people of Ohio do not get free first, we fear that utter license will never rule on earth.—Boston Daily Advertiser.
