Young Men's Democratic Club.

Pursuant to the call of John O. Harrin, Township Committeeman of Bainbridge Tp., a considerable number of the young men assembled at the Court House in Jasper, on Wednesday night, the 20th inst.

The meeting was called to order and the objects of it explained by John C. Schafer, Esq., County Committeeman.

On motion W. A. Traylor was chosen Chairman pro tem. and C. Doane Sec'y.

On motion of G. T. B. Carr, a committee of three, consisting of J. U. Schafer, John W. Bretz, and John G. Harris were appointed a committee on permanent organization, to report at this meeting. After consultation the Committee reported as permanent officers, For President--Wm. A. Traylor; Vice President--Arthur Berry; Secretary--August Litschgi.

On motion the report was amended by adding the name of John W. Breitz, as Treasurer, and then the report as amended was adopted. Mr. C. Doane was chosen Assistant Secretary.

Mr. Schafer then offered for adoption a constitution for the Young Men's Democratic Club, prepared by the State Committee, which after reading, and remarks thereon, and on the objects of the organization by Mr. Carr was adopted.

Upon call, the meeting was addressed in an eloquent manner by John C. Schafer, who was followed in a few very appropriate remarks by G. T. B. Carr.

After several suggestions it was finally resolved that when this meeting adjourns it be to meet again in Jasper, in two weeks from next Saturday night at candle lighting.

On motion the Jasper Courier and Huntingburg Signal are hereby requested to publish the proceedings of this meeting.

The signing of the roll was called for and considerable number came forward and joined the Club.

On motion the meeting adjourned until the 16th inst.
