Full Text

One of the most successful revival meetings in the church's history closed at the Methodist church last night, Rev. W. R. McKay of Little Rock, delivering the farewell sermon to the largest crowd ever assembled in the church auditorium, every available seat being occupied and chairs were brought in to accommodate the vast crowd, even then many were turned away. Rev. McKay, who preached the last three sermons of the meeting, made an impressive appeal to the unsaved to make a start. Rev. McKay's other sermons were also some of the most telling ever heard here. Dr. Hammond, who preached the first five days of the meeting, made a lasting impression on Prescott people because of his earnestness and the sincere appeals to his hearers. A total of 43 members were received in the church during the revival, 27 joining on confession of faith, the remainder by letter. Rev. J. A. Parker, the pastor, preached the first two sermons of the meeting, Sunday, October 26. and both Dr. Hammond and Rev. McKay were ably assisted in the work all through the revival by the pastor, whose splendid enthusiasm was instrumental in making the meeting such a splendid success from every viewpoint. The excellent music furnished by the choir was soul inspiring and it played no small part in securing such splendid attendance at each service.
